About Club Copicana
Welcome to Club Copicana, where creativity meets community! My name is Kazumi Nitta, and I’m thrilled to share the story behind this passion project turned business.
I was born in Gunma, Japan, and moved to Canada with my family in 2016. During our first Christmas here, my husband gave me a set of Copic markers, sparking my love for art. What began as a simple hobby—coloring picture cards—quickly grew into an obsession. My kids lovingly call me the “Copiccat” because I enjoy recreating my favorite illustrations with Copic markers.
Surprisingly, I had never heard of Copic while living in Japan, and sourcing them in Canada was challenging. So, I started importing them myself. Over time, my collection grew, and my husband jokingly suggested turning it into a store. That idea stuck, and Club Copicana was born! The name combines two of my favorite things: Wham’s “Club Tropicana” and, of course, Copic markers.
Today, Club Copicana is more than a store—it’s a space for Copic enthusiasts to connect, create, and celebrate their passion for art.
