The Otona no Enpitsu (Adult’s Pencil) is Kitaboshi’s award-winning masterpiece, designed to bring the nostalgic joy and tactile warmth of traditional woodcase pencils into modern professional life. Combining the elegant feel of a classic pencil with the convenience of a knock-type mechanical mechanism, this exceptional writing tool won the prestigious Japan Stationery of the Year Award in 2011.

Like its traditional counterparts, the outer barrel is beautifully crafted from premium California incense cedar. Inside, it houses a thick, premium Japanese 2mm B lead—formulated strictly from ultra-pure graphite and clay. This allows you to write, sketch, or shade with the rich, expressive dark lines of a real wooden pencil while benefiting from excellent break resistance.

Engineered for extended comfort, the pencil features a carefully calibrated internal balance. By using a lightweight cedar body tipped with subtle metallic hardware at both ends, the center remains light while the weighted ends prevent hand fatigue during long writing sessions.

This comprehensive set includes Kitaboshi's uniquely designed pocket lead sharpener. Instead of using aggressive blades that break lead, it utilizes a proprietary spring-plate mechanism.
